Panther

Panthers are large feline creatures native to the Summer Isles.

Distribution

Panthers are found in the rain forests of the Summer Isles, where they prowl beneath the canopies of trees.[1] The magister, Illyrio Mopatis, has a panther in his menagerie in Pentos.[2]

History

After actions taken by Malthar Xaq and other princes of the Summer Isles began a new era of exploration and trade for their people, a fashion developed amongst the dragonlords of Valyria for panther cubs from the islands.[1]

Anatomy and physiology

The spotted panthers of the Summer Isles are larger than lions. Their movements are thought of as graceful.[2][3]
