"Big Truck" is a song by American rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again, released on April 21, 2023, as the introductory track from his sixth full-length studio album, Don't Try This at Home. The song sees an aggressive use from YoungBoy as he raps about murder and violence, despite his "stop the violence" campaign.[1][2]

The track is a "bouncy track" and is supported by YoungBoy's "menacing chords" and his "equally menacing voice".[3]

Critical reception

Writing for Clash, Robin Murray wrote that the intro sees YoungBoy do what "YoungBoy does best". Furthermore, he notes that "there's a gleeful cartoonish quality to the way the Louisiana artist approaches his craft".[4] Revolt's Regina Cho notes that YoungBoy "raps about how he is not the one to be messed with".[1]

Music video

The song's official music video directed by YoungBoy Never Broke Again himself arrived a day following the album's release on April 22, 2023. The video sees "YoungBoy showing off his impressive collection of luxury cars" while he parades around his Utah home while on house arrest in camouflage overalls, making him match the dirt path and trees of his garden.[1][5]

Commercial performance

Debuting with 6.6 million US streams, YoungBoy Never Broke Again's "Big Truck" debuted at #100 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking his hundredth entry on the chart.[6] Furthermore, the entry marked a record which YoungBoy broke as the youngest artist in Billboard history to chart one hundred songs on the Hot 100, taking over Lil Baby who held the previous record at 27 years, four months and two weeks whereas YoungBoy now hold sit at twenty-three years, six months, and one week.[6]
