Adelaide International

Djokovic reached the final without dropping a set, then beat Sebastian Korda in the final 6–7(8–10), 7–6(7–3), 6–4 saving a match point in the second set.

It was Djokovic's 92nd career title, and the first time he won a title in Adelaide since 2007.[3]

Australian Open

Djokovic beat Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final, 6–3, 7–6(7–4), 7–6(7–5), to win his tenth Australian Open title and 22nd major overall, equaling Nadal's all-time record.

Dubai Tennis Championships

The World No. 1 was on a roll, winning 15 matches in a row before losing to Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals of the Dubai Tennis Championships.[4]

Indian Wells Masters

Djokovic withdrew from the tournament due to COVID-19 vaccine mandate rules from entering the United States.[5]

Miami Open

Djokovic was unable to enter the United States due to being unvaccinated for COVID-19.[6]

Monte-Carlo Masters

Despite leading 6–4, 4–2, two time champion Djokovic was upset in the Round of 16 by Lorenzo Musetti, who came back to win the match 4–6, 7–5, 6–4 for his first ever win against a reigning World No. 1 and first ever win against Novak Djokovic.[7]

Srpska Open

Djokovic was upset in the quarterfinals 4–6, 6–7(6–8) by compatriot Dusan Lajovic. Djokovic squandered 15 of 16 break point chances and a 6–3 lead in the 2nd set tiebreak.[8]

Madrid Open

Djokovic has withdrawn from Madrid Open in the wake of recent concerns over an elbow injury.[9]

Italian Open

In his final event before his 36th birthday, defending champion Djokovic reached the quarterfinals for the 17th straight year.[10] In the quarterfinals, following a one hour rain delay at the end of the second set, Djokovic was defeated by Holger Rune 6–2 4–6 6–2. It was Djokovic's earliest loss in Rome since a quarterfinal defeat in 2013. [11]
