Rodrik Ryswell is Lord of the Rills and the head of House Ryswell in the North. He has at least two daughters,[1] Bethany who is deceased and Barbrey, the Lady of Barrowton, and three sons, Roger, Rickard, and Roose.[2][3] Rodrik's personal coat of arms is an alteration of the Ryswell horsehead, golden instead of black.[2]

History

Upon the outbreak of Robert's Rebellion, Rodrik's daughter Barbrey gave the pride of Rodrik's herds, a red stallion, to her husband, Lord Willam Dustin, when he traveled south with Lord Eddard Stark. The stallion returned north, but Willam did not.[4]

A Feast for Crows

House Ryswell is one of the first houses to swear allegiance to Lord Roose Bolton after he is named the new Warden of the North by the Iron Throne.[5]

A Dance with Dragons

Theon Greyjoy notices Lord Rodrik's golden horsehead banner above Barrow Hall, the seat of his daughter Barbrey, Lady of Barrowton.[2]

Lord Ryswell, along with his sons and surviving daughter Barbrey Dustin, attends the wedding of Ramsay Bolton to "Arya Stark" (actually Jeyne Poole) in Winterfell. Theon sees Rodrik's gold horsehead hanging on the walls of the Great Hall during the wedding feast.[6]
