The maid of the seas[1] or maid of the sea[2] is a title given to a young maid of the Free City of Pentos. Every year a new maid of the seas is chosen.
About
Every year the Prince of Pentos deflowers the maid of the fields and the maid of the seas on the first day of the year.[1][2] This ritual is meant to ensure the continued prosperity of Pentos on land and at sea.[2]
