Erich I Greyiron, known as Erich the Ugly, was a High King of the Iron Islands from House Greyiron. He was the son of Urras Greyiron, the first High King of the Iron Islands.
History
After the death of his father, Erich seized his driftwood crown and proclaimed himself the High King of the Iron Islands. However, the priest Galon Whitestaff, despite being half-blind and feeble, arose in fury and declared him an unlawful king, as he had not been chosen at kingsmoot. He assembled all ironborn "captains and kings" to Old Wyk and Erich was quickly unmade and condemned to death. He avoided this fate by casting his father's crown to the sea, a sign of his submission to the Drowned God. In his place, the kingsmoot raised Regnar Drumm.[1]
