Prince Baelon Targaryen was the secondborn son of King Viserys I Targaryen and his wife, Queen Aemma Arryn.[1]
History
Queen Aemma died giving birth to Baelon. He was named after his grandfather, Prince Baelon the Brave, but the infant died one day after his birth.[1][2]
While the court was grieving and bereft over the deaths of Baelon and Aemma, Prince Daemon Targaryen was observed in the Street of Silk with his highborn cronies, making drunken japes about the "heir for a day". When word of this reached King Viserys I Targaryen, he became livid and named his daughter, Rhaenyra Targaryen, as his heir.[1]
