Shakib Al Hasan (Khondaker Sakib Al-Hassan; Bengali: খন্দকার সাকিব আল হাসান; born 24 March, 1987) is a Bangladeshi cricketer and current captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team in Tests and T20Is. According to International Cricket Council, he is currently ranked no. 1 all-rounder in ODI and T20I cricket and is widely considered to be one of the greatest all-rounders of all time. He is known for his aggressive left-handed batting style in the middle order and controlled slow left-arm orthodox bowling. He was ranked the 90th most famous athlete in the world by ESPN. He has been listed among the ICC Men's Team of the Year twice, first in 2009 and second in 2021.

Shakib Al Hasan made his test debut in 2007 against India. His breakthrough came in the Test against New Zealand in Chittagong in 2008 where he picked up 7/36, which at the time was the best figure by a Bangladeshi bowler and quickly established himself as one of the team's leading performers. He has scored over 4,000 runs and taken more than 200 wickets in the format, making him one of the most successful all-rounders in Test cricket history. He has also captained the team on their first-ever Test match win over England in 2016. In ODIs, Shakib has been more successful. He has scored over 6,000 runs and taken more than 270 wickets in the format, becoming the only player in history to achieve the double of 5,000 runs and 250 wickets in ODIs.Shakib has been a genuine performer in T20 cricket. He has played for various teams around the world, including Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Jamaica Tallawahs, and has been a consistent performer in the format. He was named the player of the tournament in the 2012 edition of the Bangladesh Premier League.As of April 2023, Shakib holds the record for the most men's T20 International wickets.

In the 2012 Asia Cup, Shakib scored 237 runs, including three fifties, and took six wickets. Bangladesh progressed to the tournament's final for the first time, losing to Pakistan by 2 runs.
