Al-Gabalawi

Al-Gabalawi (Arabic: الجبلاوي), also known under the title Al-Gabalawi Defies the Law (Arabic: الجبلاوي يتحدى القانون) is an Egyptian film released on August 26, 1991. The film is directed by Adel El Aassar, features a screenplay written by Faisal Nada, and stars Kamal el-Shennawi, Samah Anwar, Hesham Selim, Shoukry Sarhan (his last film), Aida Riyad, Sayed Abdel Karim, and Wael Nour.[1]

Synopsis

A dispute arises between Hassan and Al-Gabalawi, leading Hassan to instigate their factory's owner Said al-Hajj to fire Al-Gabalawi, who leaves to work for a drug dealer named Abbas. Al-Gabalawi and Abbas seize a hoard worth one million Egyptian pounds and return to town to bid at an auction for the factory, which Abbas claims to have inherited and uses for his illicit business. His revenge successful, Al-Gabalawi alters Abbas's criminal ways.
